Danish Pavilion - Venice Architecture Biennale 2025
For 2025, Denmark presented Build of Site, curated by Søren Pihlmann. The Pavilion explored how we can build on the world without building anew. The presentation focuses on sustainable architecture with Denmark's contribution being a refurbishment of the pavilion to help future proof the structure against climate change and excessive rainfall. For the duration of the Biennale, the pavilion is presented as a paused construction site that explores how materials can be reused and recontextualised, giving what would be thought of waste new value.
Bianca worked with the pihlmann architects team, the Danish Architecture Centre and Danish consultant Sabina Eklund on an international PR campaign that would build excitement around the pavilion and position it as one of the key exhibitions at the Biennale. The campaign has resulted in over 140 pieces of media coverage.
Alongside coverage in Danish national media, the pavilion was featured as one of the highlights of the Biennale in the Financial Times, Guardian, Zeit, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, Deutsche Welle, Politico, Forbes, Robb Report, Dezeen, Wallpaper, Monocle, The Architect’s Newspaper, The Architect’s Journal, Metropolis, Designboom, Domus, Interni, AD Italy, Elle Decor Italy, Art Review and The Art Newspaper.
